Huxley researchers receive HERA Paper of the Year award

Environmental science master’s graduate Audrey M. Colnar and Wayne G. Landis, the director of the Institute of Environmental Toxicology at Huxley College of the Environment, have received the award for Ecological Risk Assessment Paper of the Year 2007 for "Conceptual Model Development for Invasive Species and a Regional Risk Assessment Case Study: The European Green Crab, Carcinus maenas, at Cherry Point, Washington, USA.” (HERA 13(1): pp. 120-55.)

In announcing the award, the senior editor of journal Human and Ecological Risk Assessment described the paper as "an important advance in ecological risk assessment at the regional scale dealing with invasive species, arguably a more important global stressor than chemical contamination."
