Sodexo, Inc., which provides dining, catering, concessions and other food on the Western Washington University campus through University Dining Services, has been named the No. 1 company for recruitment and retention by DiversityInc, a leading publication on diversity and business founded in 1998.

The companies on DiversityInc's Top 10 list show the most progress in bringing in new talent that's diverse in every way, retaining that talent and promoting people of all races/ethnicities, genders, orientations and physical abilities.

Effective Monday, Jan. 4, coffee and espresso pricing will be changing campuswide. Due to increased costs from suppliers, Dining Services is adjusting prices to be competitive with off-campus coffee shops.

The regular University Dining Services Red Eye Special is happening now through Dec. 10.

On-campus cafes and markets are serving 50-cent drip coffee and hot tea after 5 p.m. Also, Miller Market and The Atrium will be operating with extended hours.

Not that long ago, a vegan meal at many of the country's schools consisted of a salad and a baked potato, but times have changed for the better. That's why peta2, the world's largest youth animal rights organization, has announced the nominees for its fourth annual Most Vegetarian-Friendly Colleges competition--and Western Washington University has made the grade. The university has been selected as one of the top 32 schools in the U.S. when it comes to providing vegetarian and vegan options.
