More than a hundred conversations with community members, civic leaders and advocates for Western Washington University have been completed as part of President Bruce Shepard's 100 Conversations initiative.

Results from those conversations have been made available online on the 100 Conversations website.

Operating budget proposals for Western Washington University's 2010-11 supplemental budget will be presented to the WWU community from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, April 22, and from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday, April 23.

The Associated Students Social Issues Resource Center at Western Washington University will play host to a “Social Issues Kickoff” at 7 p.m. Oct. 27 in Viking Union Room 565 A/B.

Individuals are encouraged to attend with a willingness to learn about social issues through respectful questions and comments.

Clubs and groups are encouraged to bring materials and informative posters, brochures, stickers and other materials that can be shared with others.

Snacks will be provided.

Elaine Jones, chief operating officer of the Allen Institute for Brain Science in Seattle, presented a talk titled “A Business Model for Changing the World” on Friday, Oct. 2, at Western Washington University that covered basic advancements in the field of neuroscience, highlight the world-renowned Allen Brain Atlas projects and discuss the Allen Institute’s unique business model.

Malalai Joya, an Afghan woman elected to that country’s National Assembly, will be among the speakers this fall in the World Issues Forum/Paths to Global Justice, a lecture series devoted to international social justice issues held at Western Washington University’s Fairhaven College of Interdisciplinary Studies.
