Western Washington University students packed into Fraser Hall Room 4 Thursday night to watch the premiere of KVIK's “WWUsical.”

The film, based on the popular "High School Musical," is the first musical produced by KVIK, the WWU Associated Students television station.

Flamenco week continues at Western Washington University with a screening of the film "Flamenco," directed by Carlos Saura, from 7 to 9 p.m. in Fraser Hall Room 3. "Flamenco" is considered a documentary masterpiece in its portrayal of the essence of flamenco dance and song. Penny Hutchinson, an assistant professor in the Dance Department, and Paqui Paredes, an associate professor of Modern and Classical Languages, will provide a short introduciton to the film. This event is open to all.

Western Washington University political science graduate Chad Robertson will screen his film “Sa Vidya Ya Vimuktaye—Knowledge is that which Liberates” from 7 to 8 p.m. today, Oct. 21, in Communications Facility Room 115 on the WWU campus.

“Sa Vidya Ya Vimuktaye” provides a fascinating look inside Ashram Paryavaran Vidyalaya, a school in the Indian Himalayas dedicated to providing holistic, child-centered education to local village children. Robertson learned Hindi and spent a year at the school before making this film.
