Western Washington University’s Department of Theatre Arts will partner with the Seattle Repertory Theatre’s New Play Program on performances at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 26, in the Old Main Theater.

Both shows are free and open to the public.

Western Washington University faculty and staff can get 20-percent discounts, and WWU alumni can get 50-percent discounts, to the first three opening nights of "The Musical of Musicals (The Musical!)" at the Mount Baker Theatre.

The discounts are valid only for the shows on Feb. 10, 11 and 12. These dates also include a special Q&A session with director Mark Kuntz, an associate professor of Theatre Arts, and the show's cast.

As always, tickets for students are just $10.

Evan Tucker, a production manager from Northwest Playwrights Alliance, which co-sponsors the WWU Theatre Ambassador's tour, appeared on Q13 Fox recently just before the tour opened with three full-house shows at the New City Theatre in Seattle.

Eliza Jane Schneider, a former voice actress on the TV show "South Park" and current member of the musical group "Eliza Jane and the Barnyard Gypsies" will make an appearance on the Western Washington University campus on Friday, Jan. 22, to perform a staged reading of her 30-plus-character solo play "Freedom of Speech."

There came a point along Richard Lyon's dual career path into the ministry and acting when he came to the realization that the two could be one. After graduating from the Iliff School of Theology, a progressive Methodist seminary in Denver, in 1979, Lyon returned to his former hippie haunts in the San Francisco Bay Area, and entered the Berkeley Graduate Theological Union.
