Western Washington University President Bruce Shepard appeared on TVW Thursday evening on the show "Inside Olympia." Shepard recently was interviewed by host Austin Jenkins for the show.

In addition, Bill Lyne, a professor of English at WWU, also was interviewed for another segment in the same program for his role as a faculty member and as the president of the United Faculty of Washington State. A third guest on the show is Mike Bogatay, from the Washington Student Association.

One of most intense NCAA Division II men’s basketball rivalries in the country will be televised regionally as Western Washington University has contracted with FSN Northwest for a live telecast of its home game in late February with arch-rival Central Washington University.

The contest has been moved one day from its original schedule date to Sunday, Feb. 28, to accommodate the telecast. Tip-off will be at 7 p.m. on Haggen Court at Sam Carver Gymnasium on the WWU campus.

The game is traditionally a sellout on both campuses each season.

A Canadian film crew shooting for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation was on campus Friday, Jan. 22, to film Western Washington University professor Ira Hyman and to re-stage (with WWU's Joe Myers on unicycle) Hyman's research on cell phone use for a documentary.

A film crew from the German television show "Auto Mobil - Das VOX Automagazin" dropped by the Western Washington University campus today to film for an upcoming episode of the TV show. The show is set to air Jan. 24 in Germany. The crew planned to head up to Vancouver, B.C., to film another competitor for the Progressive Auto X-Prize -- Future Vehicle Technologies -- before heading home. Photos by Matthew Anderson | WWU

The recognition ceremony from the recent 10-year anniversary celebration of the Campus Community Coalition will be aired on Bellingham's BTV10 television station this week. The ceremony is set to air at 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, and at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9.
