Editorial: The end of education silos and fiefdoms

Nothing focuses the mind, and priorities, like an imminent swing of the budget ax. I've been spending hours listening to a parade of leaders from K-12 and higher education clarify their core missions and shape new collaborations and consolidations. The timing isn't coincidental. State lawmakers haven't finished trimming $1.1 billion from the current state budget. Next biennium's revenue challenges hang like a dark cloud over the future.
