More optimism as 2012 WWU graduates enter the job market

As Western Washington University students complete the pomp and circumstance of graduation, they will find themselves in a job market that is still difficult, but is better than in recent years.
While national data indicates a slowdown in hiring this spring, local numbers show significant improvement. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Whatcom County's unemployment rate in April was 7.2 percent, the lowest level since the end of 2008.
