Women's basketball: Vikings start slow, can't recover

Western Washington University got off to a slow start and never recovered, falling atnationally ranked University of Alaska Anchorage, 72-50, in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference women's basketball game on Thursday, Feb. 9. The Vikings had a three-game winning streak snapped and fell to 15-6 overall and 8-4 in the GNAC. Reserve center Kayla Bernsen led WWU with nine points and guard Corinn Waltrip had eight.
