Gov. Chris Gregoire joins President Obama in directing that Washington state and U.S. flags at all Washington state government facilities be lowered to half-staff in memory of Neil Armstrong on Friday, Aug. 31.

Flags should remain at half-staff until close of business on Friday.

Other government entities, citizens and businesses are encouraged to join this recognition.
