Jingle with WWU at annual run/walk event
Members of the Western Washington University campus community are invited to participate as part of Western’s team in the 23rd Annual Jingle Bell Run/Walk for Arthritis, to be held at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 11, in downtown Bellingham (starts and ends at Bellingham High School). The festive event is a two-mile walk or four-mile run, each participant receiving a long-sleeved shirt and outfitted with jingle bells. Costumes are welcome.
More than 46 million Americans, including 300,000 children, have doctor-diagnosed arthritis. The Jingle Bell Run & Walk for Arthritis benefits the local branch of the Arthritis Foundation and provides vital funding for research programs and service to prevent, control and cure arthritis. Western employees and retirees have a long history of participation in this event.
Faculty, staff and students can participate in several ways:
- Sign up to be on Western’s team by either registering through its website at or by filling out a print registration form and writing “WWU” in the Team Name section.
- Encourage family and friends to join in.
- If you can’t participate directly, help support a co-worker through a contribution.
