Microsoft Office Pro Plus 2013 for Windows is now available to Western Washington University faculty and staff under the Microsoft Home Use Program for a $9.95 transaction fee. Email software.services@wwu.edu or call 360-650-3159 to obtain the program code and download link. Each employee using Microsoft Office at work is entitled to one Home Use License. Microsoft Office 2011 for Mac is also available. Microsoft Office 2014 for Mac is predicted for the second half of 2013.

Microsoft Office Pro Plus 2013 is being tested with university enterprise systems prior to deployment at Western. Transition to the new version is expected to be relatively easy due to the familiar “ribbon” user interface. File compatibility issues are not anticipated since file formats have not changed. New features are designed to improve work flow and efficiency on desktops, laptops and mobile devices.

WWU students are eligible for Microsoft Office and Microsoft Windows upgrade licenses for no charge through a trial program funded by Information Technology Services this year. For details on that program, go to www.wwu.edu/ms-student.
