Bill Warner (Woodring College of Education) has completed the requirements to be named an American Society for Quality-Certified Six Sigma Green Belt. As such, Warner has reached a significant level of professional recognition, indicating a proficiency in and a comprehension of Six Sigma principles and practices, according to a press release from the society.

The folks in Extended Education and Summer Programs at Western Washington University plan to hold a couple of information sessions in the next several weeks to aid those interested in the Weekend Master's in Business Administration program and the Project Management Professional Course.

Each fall quarter, Bill Warner (Woodring College of Education) teaches an MBA course in Beijing, China. On Nov. 21, Warner travels to Beijing to teach “Managing Risk: Business and Project” at Beijing University of Technology. This is a dual-modality course of face-to-face seminars and online participation in Blackboard. Warner has also taught MBA courses at universities in Shanghai and Guangzhou, China.

As word has been getting out about Giving Anonymously through local and national media coverage over the past three weeks, it has seen a surge in gifts, said Lionel Thompson, who founded the nonprofit organization in 2007 with his wife, Misha.

Western Washington University's College of Business and Economics will host an information session on its new Weekend MBA Program at University Center of North Puget Sound in Everett at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 10, at 2000 Tower St., Gray Wolf Hall, Room 160.

The WWU program is designed for active managers and professionals who are seeking career advancement, upward mobility and job security. The program at Everett will begin Jan.

Western Washington University plans to bring a weekend master’s degree in business administration to Everett next year. Classes would begin in January at Everett Community College’s University Center. The program was approved by the state’s Higher Education Coordinating Board in June. Classes will be alternating Fridays and Saturdays and take 24 months to finish.
