Lonnie Hicks

Soaring Eagles aim for state

The (Everett) Herald
In his first year at Arlington High School, softball coach Lonnie Hicks took over a team with obvious talent and desire, but one perhaps lacking in discipline. That was something Hicks, an ex-cop, figured he could fix.

Vikings coach resigns

The Bellingham Herald
"Lonnie Hicks has resigned as the head softball coach at Western Washington University. Making that announcement was Vikings' director of athletics Lynda Goodrich. Hicks posted a record of 227-205 in nine years at Western, half of the program's existence. The Vikings finished 27-25 in 2010 following a 13-17 start, and placed third in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference standings at 22-17."
